Lab #15- Fossil Fuels
Aim: To differentiate between the two types of flames produced by a Bunsen Burner.
Apparatus & Material: Bunsen burner, split, match/lighter and rubber tube.
Method: (Rewrite in past tense)
Obtain a Bunsen burner.
Attach the rubber tube to the gas tap and the Bunsen burner.
Close the air hole on the Bunsen burner and light it.
Observe the type of flame that is seen.
Open the air hole on the Bunsen burner slowly.
Observe the type of flame that is seen.
Record all observations including the sounds that are produced from both flames.

What is a luminous and non-luminous flame?
Identify which flame was luminous and which flame was non-luminous in the experiment and explain why.
