Lab #12 Friction (Implementation)

Aim: (Rewrite the aim from the friction P&D).

Methods: (Rewrite the method in friction P&D in past tense).

Results: (Copy the table from your P&D and add the data/results/measurements).

Discussion:

(Use the questions provided below to assist you in writing your discussion in paragraph format. DONOT write the questions in your lab book.)

  1. What is the relationship between the force needed to pull the object and the frictional force?

  2. What was the value of the frictional force when the object was pulled across the rough and the smooth surface? Why were the values different for both surfaces?

  3. How can the friction on the rough surface be reduced?

  4. If the type of surface should increase in roughness what would happen to the frictional force?

Limitation: (List some conditions that you have no control of that might affect the results of your experiment).

Precaution(s): (List some step that should be followed to prevent incorrect results).

Reflection: (Write what you learnt from the experiment and how it is applicable in real life).

Conclusion: (What was the outcome of the experiment or what is the answer to aim/problem based on the results of the experiment?)
