Lab #1-Diffusion

Aim: To demonstrate the process of diffusion using a solid and liquid.


Apparatus & Materials: beaker, potassium permanganate, spatula (spoon), petri dish, clock and water.

  3. Explain what took place in terms of concentration gradient in the experiment.

  4. Explain what caused the movement the potassium permanganate particles and how it spread in the beaker.

  5. What was the distribution of particles at the end of the experiment?
